Trading Defaults
Trading Defaults
The Settings screen lets you save your default trading values for faster, more consistent execution across SpeedyTurtle.
Settings saves your default trade values. It does not place trades on its own.
How to access Settings
You can open Settings in two ways:
- Open the Home screen and tap Settings.
- Type
/settingsor/presetsin chat.
What you can edit
The Settings screen gives you two preset slots for each core trading value. This lets you keep one more conservative option and one more aggressive option.
| Setting | What it controls | How to enter it | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slippage | The price movement you are willing to accept during execution | Enter a percentage as a number | 5 for 5% |
| Tip | The SOL tip used to help your transaction land faster | Enter an amount in SOL | 0.001 |
| Buy Amount | Your default quick-buy size | Enter an amount in SOL | 0.1 |
| Sell % | Your default quick-sell size | Enter a percentage as a number | 25 for 25% |
How to update a setting
- Tap the value you want to change.
- Enter the new number in chat.
- Wait for the confirmation message.
- The Settings screen will refresh with the updated value.
Use plain numbers when entering values:
- Enter
5for 5%, not0.05 - Enter
0.001for SOL amounts - Use a period
.for decimals
Slippage
Slippage is the maximum price movement you are willing to accept while a trade is being executed.
A lower slippage setting can help you avoid poor fills, but it may also cause more failed trades in fast-moving markets. A higher slippage setting can make execution more likely, but may lead to a worse final price.
Many traders keep:
- one lower slippage preset for normal conditions
- one higher slippage preset for fast or low-liquidity markets
Example:
- Slippage 1:
10 - Slippage 2:
25
On the Trade screen, these appear as your saved slippage choices alongside Auto.
Tip
Tip is the extra SOL added to help your transaction get picked up and processed faster.
A lower tip keeps costs down. A higher tip can help when speed matters or the network is busy.
Many traders keep:
- one lower tip for everyday trading
- one higher tip for faster execution when needed
Example:
- Tip 1:
0.001 - Tip 2:
0.005
On the Trade screen, these appear as your saved tip choices alongside Auto.
Buy Amount 1 and Buy Amount 2
These are your default quick-buy sizes in SOL.
When you use quick buy actions, SpeedyTurtle uses these saved amounts so you can act without typing your size every time.
A common setup is:
- Buy Amount 1 for smaller test entries
- Buy Amount 2 for your standard or higher-conviction size
Example:
- Buy Amount 1:
0.1 - Buy Amount 2:
1
Sell % 1 and Sell % 2
These are your default quick-sell sizes as a percentage of your current position.
This is useful for scaling out quickly. Many traders keep one preset for partial profit-taking and another for larger exits.
A common setup is:
- Sell % 1 for partial sells
- Sell % 2 for larger or full exits
Example:
- Sell % 1:
25 - Sell % 2:
100
Where these settings are used
Your saved Settings values are used as quick defaults in the trading flow.
You will see them reflected in actions such as:
- Buy 1 and Buy 2
- Sell 1 and Sell 2
- Slippage 1 and Slippage 2
- Tip 1 and Tip 2
This helps you trade faster without re-entering the same values every time.
Best practices
- Start with smaller buy amounts when testing a new setup
- Keep one conservative preset and one more aggressive preset
- Review slippage before trading fast-moving or low-liquidity tokens
- Increase your tip only when faster execution matters
- Revisit your sell presets as your strategy changes
Troubleshooting
- My value was rejected: Make sure you entered a number only, and use
.instead of,for decimals. - My trade used the wrong amount: Check whether you tapped the first or second preset value.
- I updated a value but do not see the change: Wait for the confirmation message and refreshed screen, then reopen Settings if needed.
- I’m looking for auto-execution settings: Those live in Trade Shortcuts, not in Settings.
- I’m looking for strategy settings: Buy amounts, slippage, and exits for automated strategies are set per strategy in the Strategy Hub, not in Settings.
