Gas Settings

SpeedyTurtle: Gas & MEV Tip Settings

Gas is the fee required to process transactions on the Solana network.

  • Base Gas – The minimum fee needed for any transaction to go through.

  • Buy Gas / Sell Gas – Extra gas you can add on top of the base fee. Increasing this amount prioritizes your transaction, making it more likely to process quickly during periods of network congestion.

  • When the Solana network is busy, a MEV Tip allows you to pay extra to speed up your transaction.

    • How it works: Validators prioritize transactions with higher tips, meaning your trade is more likely to be processed quickly.

    • When to use: Add a MEV Tip during network congestion, high-volume launches, or when using Anti-MEVprotection.

The Gas Settings Menu lets you adjust the default Gas and MEV Tip values used when buying and selling tokens. These defaults apply to all manual trades unless changed directly in the Buy or Sell Menus.

Gas Settings Menu Options

  1. Buy Gas

    • Adjust the default gas for manual buys.

    • Example: If you set 0.001 Buy Gas on a 0.0001 SOL base, your total gas usage will be 0.0011 SOL.

  2. Sell Gas

    • Adjust the default gas for manual sells.

    • Example: If you set 0.001 Sell Gas on a 0.0001 SOL base, your total gas usage will be 0.0011 SOL.

  3. Buy MEV Tip

    • Add a tip to prioritize buy transactions when Anti-MEV is enabled.

    • This tip is added on top of your Buy Gas.

    • If unchanged, the default tip setting is used.

  4. Sell MEV Tip

    • Add a tip to prioritize sell transactions when Anti-MEV is enabled.

    • This tip is added on top of your Sell Gas.

    • If unchanged, the default tip setting is used.

Notes

  • You can also adjust Gas and MEV Tip directly in the Buy Menu and Sell Menu.

  • For details on how these affect trades, see the Buying Tokens and Selling Tokens guides.

Pro Tip: Using a higher MEV Tip during high network congestion can help your trades confirm faster and avoid failed transactions.
